The Citadel 64, Davidson 46

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Demetrius Nelson scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as The Citadel topped Davidson, 64-46 Wednesday night at Belk Arena.   

Cameron Wells scored 15 for the Bulldogs (18-10, 13-4 Southern Conference), who extended their school-record conference winning streak to 10 games and ended a 14-game losing skid against Davidson. Zach Urbanus added 11 for The Citadel, which last won at Davidson in 1990. John Brown finished with 12 rebounds.

Andrew Lovedale finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats, while Brendan McKillop tallied 15 points.  Davdison shot just 25.4 percent from the floor and was outrebounded 48-35 by The Citadel.  Davidson was without the services of junior Stephen Curry, the nation's leading scorer averaging 29 points, who sprained his ankle Saturday against Furman.

The Citadel has a week off before returning to the court.  The Bulldogs will host Furman on February 26.  Davidson plays host to Butler Saturday at noon as part of ESPNU’s BracketBusters.
