SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Wofford's Noah Dahlman has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games December 15-21 the league office announced Tuesday (Dec. 22). The Terriers went 2-0 in non-conference play last week with victories over South Carolina (68-61) and UNC Asheville (68-42). Dahlman averaged 19.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and made 55 percent of his field goal attempts. It is the second time he has won the award, after taking home the honor on December 1. The player of the week is selected by the league office.
The Braham, Minn., native opened the week with game highs for points (19) and rebounds (11) in the victory over South Carolina Saturday evening. It was Wofford's first win over the Gamecocks since 1939. Dahlman was 8-of-14 from the floor and added an assist, a blocked shot and a steal in 31 minutes of action. The junior tallied his second double-double of the week with a 19 point, 12 rebound effort on the road against UNC Asheville Monday afternoon. Eight of his 12 rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor.
Dahlman is the league's leading scorer with 18.4 points per game. He ranks seventh in the league with 6.8 rebounds per contest and is third in field goal percentage (.609). Dahlman is second in the conference with 4.1 offensive rebounds per game.
The Terriers (7-6, 0-2 SoCon) will travel to take part in the Cable Car Classic in Santa Clara, Calif. Next week. Wofford will face Kent State on December 29 and will take on either Northeastern or Santa Clara December 30.
Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Donald Sims, The Citadel's Cameron Wells, Davidson's Jake Cohen, Elon's Adam Constantine, Georgia Southern's Colby Wollheb, Samford's Josh Davis and Chattanooga's DeAntre Jefferson.
