The 2009 NCAA Division I Football Championship Awards Banquet will be video streamed live from Chattanooga, Tenn. on Thursday, December 17.  The event begins at 7 p.m. and will feature the many of the nation's top football players as the 2009 award winners are announced.

Five Southern Conference student-athletes and two SoCon head football coaches are finalists for three of the evening's awards.  Appalachian State's Mark LeGree is up for the Buck Bucannon Award.  Former Eddie Robinson Award winner Jerry Moore is up for the honor once again along with fellow SoCon head football coach Pete Lembo.  Rounding out the list of finalists from the SoCon are Appalachian State's Armanti Edwards, The Citadel's Andre Roberts and Elon's Terrell Hudgins and Scott Riddle who are up for the Walter Payton Award.
