SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Wofford's Noah Dahlman has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games November 24-30 the league office announced Tuesday (Dec. 1). The Terriers went 2-1 last week as they earned wins over Southern (81-66) and Seattle (84-83) at the Las Vegas Invitational. Wofford started the week with a 78-64 loss at then-No. 20 Illinois. Dahlman averaged 22.3 points and 6.7 rebounds last week and made over 65 percent (27-of-41) of his field goal attempts. The player of the week is selected by the league office.
After scoring 13 points at Illinois, Dahlman tallied a game-high 31 points against Southern University. The junior forward added eight rebounds in that game and shot 12-of-17 from the floor. He followed up that performance with a double-double, recording 23 points and 11 rebounds against Seattle. The Braham, Minn., native was 13-of-19 from the foul line for the week and added two steals and two blocked shots
Dahlman leads the league in scoring (18.0 ppg) and ranks ninth in rebounding (7.9 rpg), making him one of just three players in the league to be ranked in the top ten for both scoring and rebounding. Dahlman is fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (.593), a statistic he has led the league in each of the past two seasons.
The Terriers (4-3) open conference play when they travel to face Western Carolina (5-1) Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Wofford will then visit Michigan State Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Jeremi Booth, College of Charleston's Jeremy Simmons, The Citadel's Cameron Wells, Davidson's Jake Cohen, Georgia Southern's Willie Powers, Samford's Josh Davis and Western Carolina's Jake Robinson.
