GREENSBORO, N.C. - College of Charleston and Davidson will square off for the 2009 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. UNC Greensboro's Soccer Stadium serves as the site for Sunday's championship tilt, with the winner earning the league's automatic qualifying bid to the 2009 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.

The No. 2 seed Cougars played third-seeded Samford to a 0-0 draw Friday afternoon but advanced via a 6-5 advantage in penalty kicks.  Davidson, which earned the No. 4 seed, earned a 1-0 win over host UNC Greensboro Friday night.  Senior Lauren Conner tallied the game-winning goal in the 19th minute.  It was the second time this season the Wildcats knocked off the Spartans, after claiming a 2-1 win during the regular season.

College of Charleston won the regular-season meeting, 2-0, on October 8 in Davidson.  Since that meeting the Wildcats have not lost, compiling a 6-0-1 record in their last seven matches.

Davidson won the league's first three women's soccer tournament championships from 1994-96 but has not advanced to the title game since.  College of Charleston last advanced to the title game in 2002.
