25 Freshmen Honored by League’s Head Coaches

 

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference football coaches have selected a 25-player all-freshman team, comprised of 11 offensive, 11 defensive and three special teams players.

 

The Citadel led the way with five players honored, followed by four from Georgia Southern. Appalachian State, Elon, Furman and Samford each had three players honored while Chattanooga had two representatives. Western Carolina and Wofford recorded one all-freshman selection each, including WCU running back Michael Johnson who was also named the league’s Freshman of the Year.

 

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players in the voting process.
