SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Two days after becoming the NCAA Division I all-time leader in receptions (331), Elon senior wide receiver Terrell Hudgins was selected as The Sports Network's National Offensive Player of the Week.

This is the second time in his career that he has been named The Sports Network's National Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Hudgins (Rocky Mount, N.C.) tied a career-high with 16 receptions in Elon's 19-12 victory at Furman on Saturday.  He tallied 209 yards and a touchdown and was clutch in the fourth quarter, hauling in six catches for 69 yards ? including a 36-yarder to the two yard line that set up his score.  His performance helped the Phoenix win in Greenville for the first time since 1999 and hand Furman just its fifth home loss since the start of the 2004 season.  By eclipsing the 200-yard receiving mark, Hudgins tied a SoCon record with his third career 200+ yard game and he tied his own league mark with five consecutive 100+ yard receiving games.  Hudgins is now just 327 yards shy of breaking Jerry Rice's FCS career receiving yardage record.
 
With his third catch of the game against Furman, Hudgins notched his 318th career grab, surpassing Jacquay Nunnally of Florida A&M (1997-2000) for the all-time NCAA Division I record in receptions.  The FBS record of 316 is held by Taylor Stubblefield of Purdue (2001-04).
