Rancourt Guides Furman Into First Place In Round Two At Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship
Fort Myers, Fla. -- Freshman Alexa Rancourt (70-71=141) notched 11 birdies over 36 holes on Monday to grab third place and help Furman (290-288=578) into the lead after two rounds at the 32nd annual Pat Bradley Women’s Golf Championship at the par-72 Pelican Preserve Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Paladins hold a two-stroke advantage over UCF (292-288=580) and three-stroke lead over the University of South Florida (290-291=581) through two rounds. Host Florida International (284-298=582) and Stetson (292-297=589) rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Rancourt, a native of Portland, Maine, began Monday with seven birdies to notch a two-under par 70 in the opening round. In round two on Monday afternoon, she birdied four holes to shoot 71. The freshman trails tournament leader Shena Yang (68-68=136) of the USF by five strokes and second place Valentina Fontaine (69-71=140) of UCF by one stroke with 18 holes left to play.
Furman junior Stefanie Kenoyer (71-72=143) played the first 36 holes at one-under 143 to share sixth place while fellow junior Jackie Hilea (75-70=145) used a second round 70 to move into a tie for 12th place.

Elon's McFadden in the Hunt for Palmetto Title
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The East Tennessee State women's golf team fired a tournament-low 289 in the first round and a 294 in the second to lead with a total of 583 after 36 holes of the 2009 Palmetto Intercollegiate being held Oct. 26-27 at the Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. Maryland sits just three strokes back in second with a 586 (296-290). The Elon Phoenix sits 12th in the 18-team field after a two round total of 610 (310-300).
Campbell is third with a 591 (298-293) and in fourth is Kennesaw State with a 594 (297-297). Rounding out the top five are East Carolina (295-303) and Georgia State (299-299) who both have a 598 heading into the third and final round which starts at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
Leading for individual medalist honors is Maryland's Jessie Hollandsworth, who shot a 69 and a 68 in two rounds to total a 137 and lead ETSU's Sinead O'Sullivan by six strokes.
Elon's Tara McFadden is tied for sixth after shooting a 145 (75-70) and is just two strokes out of second place. McFadden posted 26 pars and shot -1 on the par-three holes.
Kelsey Johnson rebounded from a first-round 80 with a second round of 75 for a two-round score of 155 to sit tied for 50th. Lauren Lebak (79-77) and Shannon Prunty (76-80) are tied for 55th with a score of 156. Meghan Green rounded out Elon's five players with a 159 (81-78) to sit in a tie for 71st.

Kathy Boehm (Poing, Germany) is tied for 41st with a 153 and tied for 50th is Anna Martin (Easley, S.C.) with her 155 on the day.
Three Cougars are competing as individuals, with Emily Rapp (Simpsonville, S.C.) tied for 61st with a 157 and Courtney Brink (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) who is tied for 82nd with a 162. Maeve McKenna (Hangham, Mass.) is 87th with a 173.
The Cougars tee off from holes 10 through 12 at 9:00 a.m. in third and final round action. The third round is a shotgun format. The Tournament is free and open to the public.

Baumgartner Leads Bulldogs At Palmetto Intercollegiate
Charleston, S.C. - Sophomore Bree Baumgartner leads The Citadel Golf team, that wrapped up day two in 18th place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C. with a team score of 340 (+88). The three round event, hosted by the College of Charleston, includes 18 teams at the Oak Point Country Club.
Individually, Baumgartner completed second round scoring with an 80, putting her at 158 (+21). Maryland's Jessie Hollandsworth (137, -7) leapfrogged East Tennessee State's Nina Muehl (143, -3) to assume control of the leaderboard. East Tennessee State maintained their lead from day one, by three strokes, over Maryland. Campbell University moves into third place, with a 591, trailing by eight shots.
Alanna-Jean Keith sits in second on The Citadel team, with a 158. Sheri Rockefeller, with a second round 89, sits in third with a 175. Teammates Christine Clark (176) and Natalie Flores (180) round out remaining Bulldogs scores.

WCU Women's Golf Ninth Entering Final Round at Palmetto Intercollegiate
Senior Desiree Karlsson leads Catamounts in a tie for sixth, eight strokes off the pace
Kiawah Island, S.C. - Western Carolina carded rounds of 300 and 306 for a 36-hole score of 606 in ninth-place entering Tuesday's final round at the Palmetto Intercollegiate being played at the par-72, 5,916-yard Oak Point Golf Club. Senior Desiree Karlsson paced the Catamounts with a one-over 145, shooting even-par 72 on the opening 18 with a one-over, 73, in the second round for a score of 145.
The final 18 holes of the 18-team, 54-hole event will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 am. The Catamounts will start on the seventh through the ninth holes.
East Tennessee State shot 583 on Monday to lead Maryland by three strokes entering the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Campbell is third, eight strokes off the pace at 591, followed by Kennesaw State in fourth at 594 with East Carolina and Georgia State tied for fifth at 598, 15 strokes in arrears.
Maryland's Jessie Hollandsworth blistered the field on Monday, shooting rounds of 69 and 68 for a seven-under 137 to lead by six strokes over ETSU's Sinead O'Sullivan, who followed up an opening round 74 with a three-under 69 to shoot one-under, 143.
Junior countryman, Josefine Sundh, was five strokes behind her teammate, Karlsson, tied for 28th after consecutive rounds of 75 for 150. Freshman Swede, Malin Jansson, shot 154 (75-79) to stand in a tie for 43rd, while sophomore Blaire Minter is tied for 71st at 159 (80-79). Rounding out WCU's scorers is senior Tiffany Schisler, tied for 76th overall at 160 (78-82).
The final round is slated for a 9:00 am shotgun start on Tuesday morning.
