Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -  Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards, Fordham cornerback Isa Abdul El-Quddus, Eastern Kentucky safety Patrick McClellan and Weber State receiver-returner Tim Toone have been named The Sports Network's FCS national players of the week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Edwards, the 2008 Walter Payton Award winner, led Appalachian State back from a 14-point, second-half deficit with a season-high 415 yards and two touchdowns and added a third score on the ground as the Mountaineers rallied for a 44-34 road victory over Wofford on Saturday. Edwards became the Southern Conference's all-time leading passer. Edwards finished 27-of-34 passing (79.4%) and fired touchdown strikes of 27 and 57 yards to Brian Quick, the second TD pass clinching the game midway through the fourth quarter. Edwards also scored on a three-yard scamper to end the first half and finished with 14 carries for 17 yards. He engineered an offense that piled up 611 yards.
