SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Appalachian State 133-lb. wrestler Frank Celorrio has been selected as this week’s Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all matches from Jan. 14-20, the conference office announced Wednesday. The Wrestler of the Week is selected by the league wrestling sports information directors.

Celorrio went 3-0 for the week, including one pin. The junior started off the week by defeating Virginia Tech’s Jared Jones, 11-3 in a major decision. Celorrio next pinned Campbell’s Ritchie Apolinar at the 2:47 mark, before earning a forfeit win against Virginia.

The Miami, Fla., native currently has a six-match win streak.

Also nominated for this week’s award were UNC Greensboro’s Mitchell Johnson, Chattanooga’s Demetrius Johnson and VMI’s Michael Bowman.
