Furman's Fabien Vorbe Named Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Furman’s Fabien Vorbe has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 2.  Vorbe scored both of Furman’s goals in Sunday’s double-overtime loss to UNC Wilmington (3-2).

 

A native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Vorbe scored his first goal in the 80th minute to pull the Paladins even with the Seahawks, 1-1.  His second goal came in the 89th minute to put Furman ahead 2-1 before UNCW forced overtime.  His two goals are tied for the SoCon lead after the first weekend of play, while his four points ranks tied for second.

 

Other top performers this week were Appalachian State’s Sean Dreybus, College of Charleston’s Zach Prince, Davidson’s Whitey Bolan, Georgia Southern’s Daniel Smith and Wofford’s Nick Schuerman.
