SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Davidson’s Kyri Bye-Nagel has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Bye-Nagel has tallied two goals in Davidson’s first three games of the season.
Her first goal of the season staked the Wildcats to a 1-0 lead in the season opener against Virginia Tech as Davidson downed the Hokies, 2-1. Bye-Nagel’s marker in the 54th minute lifted Davidson to a 1-0 victory over Mercer as part of the LQ Cup on August 29. She was named SoCon Player of the Week twice during the 2007 season.
Other top performers this week were Chattanooga’s Allie Preston, The Citadel’s Jessa Scott, College of Charleston’s Megan Manthey, Elon’s Molly Calpin, Furman’s Sara El-Shami, Georgia Southern’s Ashley Toussaint, UNC Greensboro’s Kelly Attayek and Western Carolina’s Caitlin Williams.
