CHARLESTON, S.C. -- College of Charleston senior forward Matt Morris has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the period ending Sept. 14.

Morris helped the Cougars (4-2-0) claim the Aaron Olistky Memorial/Nike Soccer Classic with a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents at Patriots Point Stadium this past weekend.

Morris' goal at the 70:19 mark against 10th-ranked Ohio State on Friday tied the match at 1-all and helped the Cougars to an eventual 2-1 victory over the Buckeyes. Morris scored twice in Charleston's 3-1 win over 18th-ranked Brown on Sunday.

Morris, from Anderson, S.C., leads the Cougars with five goals, 10 shots on goal and 11 points.

The Cougars plays host to South Carolina in a 7:00 start on Friday at Patriots Point. College of Charleston is riding a three-match winning streak having outscored the opposition 7-2 over its last three outings.
