FSN South and SportSouth received 18 Emmy nominations from the 2008 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Southeast Chapter.
One of the nominations is for the Under the Lights documentary featuring Appalachian State’s preparation for its season-opening game with Michigan. The Mountaineers upset the Wolverines, 34-32, is what many experts consider the greatest upset in college football.
In 2007, FSN South and SportSouth received 14 Emmy nominations and took home eight wins. This year FSN South and SportSouth swept the nominations in two categories ? Outstanding Achievement, Sporting Event/Game (Live Unedited) and Outstanding Achievement, Sports-One Time Special.
The 2008 NATAS Southeast Regional Emmy Award winners will be announced on Saturday, June 21.
The Southern Conference has a three-year partnership with SportSouth, which grants the network exclusive broadcast rights to select Southern Conference sporting events.
