SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Furman’s Bo Ladyman is the men’s tennis player of the week.
Ladyman, a junior from, Memphis, Tenn., had a 3-0 record last week. Ladyman, playing at No.2 singles, defeated Appalachian State’s Bobby Lake, 6-1, 6-1. Ladyman defeated Elon’s Oscar Podlewski, 6-3, 6-3, and UNC Greensboro’s Arsel Kumdereli, 6-0, 6-1. Ladyman is 9-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
In doubles action, Ladyman teamed with Jordan Walters to defeat Peter Jacobs and Lee Floyd of Appalachian State, 8-4, Mason Schermerhorn and Alberto Rojas of Elon, 8-4, and Martin Redelinghuys and Arsel Kumdereli of UNC Greensboro, 8-5.
Other top performers this week included: Peter Jacobs of Appalachian State, Peter Sauska of Chattanooga, Flaviu Simihaian of Davidson, Gregory Bekkers of Georgia Southern and Paul Bartholomy of Wofford.
