GREENSBORO, N.C. ? The 73rd-ranked Furman men’s tennis team earned a 7-0 win over UNC Greensboro on Sunday to remain undefeated in league play.
Despite a close loss at number two doubles, the Paladins won the doubles point with victories at the number one and three spots. At the top spot, the Paladin tandem of Bo Ladyman and Jordan Walters defeated Martin Redelinghuys and Arsel Kumdereli by a score of 8-5, while Jason Basile and Daniel Knause topped William John and Taylor Befus 8-4 to earn the first point for the Paladins.
Furman dominated the Spartans in singles, winning all six matches in straight sets.
With the win, Furman improves to 11-10 on the season and 7-0 in Southern Conference play, while UNC Greensboro falls to 2-17 overall and 1-7 in league play.
The Paladins will take the court again on Thursday as they host Wofford at the Mickel Tennis Center on the campus of Furman University. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s tennis team captured its second consecutive 4-3 Southern Conference victory Sunday with a one-point win at Georgia Southern.
Freshman Robert Diamond’s 7-5, 6-2 win at the No. 6 singles position over GSU’s Rasim Magafurov clinched the win for the Mocs and improved their team record to 12-8 overall and 3-6 in the SoCon.
The Eagles, 8-11, 4-5, took the early 1-0 lead by winning the first and third doubles matches.
Chattanooga earned three more straight sets victories in the singles competition before Diamond’s match clincher to make up for the doubles loss.
Junior Peter Sauska scored a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over Joris De Weerdt, senior Badr Bouabdellah defeated Borja Malet at the second spot, 6-2, 6-3, and junior Pavel Vostrikov registered a 6-2, 6-3 win over Mark Paetz at No. 4.
The Eagles picked up their two remaining team points at No. 3 and No. 5 singles. Gregory Bekkers needed three sets to defeat senior Razvan Axente, 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 at No. 3 and Philip Prins was a 6-0, 6-3 winner over freshman Hasan Hamadeh at No. 5.
Chattanooga closes out the regular season Thursday at Tennessee Tech at 2:30 p.m.

DAVIDSON, N.C. The Davidson men's tennis team capped off its weekend with a hard fought 4-3 road win at East Carolina on Sunday afternoon to win their sixth match in the past seven and improve to 14-5 on the year.
The Wildcats finished the week 2-0 after defeating South Carolina State
(6-1) on Saturday. The Pirates of ECU dropped to 13-9 with the non-conference loss.
Just like Saturday, Davidson opened the match by taking all three doubles spots, which turned out to be the deciding point. Senior Flaviu Simihaian (Nasaud, Romania) and junior Ethan Jaffee (Indianapolis) led the way by earning their team-leading 11th doubles win with an 8-6 triumph at No. 1.
The duo have won six of their past seven doubles matches.
Also scoring wins was the teams of senior Phillip Compeau (Wilkesboro, N.C.) and sophomore Eric Noble (Fayetteville, N.C.) at No. 2 and sophomore Sam Burns (Banner Elk, N.C.) and freshman Walker Lyons (Wallingford, Pa.) at No.
3.
Simihaian, Lyons and Burns then each tallied wins in singles action to led the Wildcats to the victory. All three 'Cats finished the weekend a perfect 2-0.
Davidson returns to Southern Conference play when it heads to Appalachian State on Apr. 11 for a 2 p.m. match.
