SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Western Carolina’s Danielle Reese was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week.  A standout on Western Carolina’s women’s softball team, Reese has a 3.76-grade point average and is majoring in Political Science.

Reese, a sophomore from Welcome, N.C., helped the Catamounts to a 6-1 record for the week.  Reese had a batting average of .346 with nine hits, seven RBI, seven runs scored and three-for-three in stolen bases last week. 

Reese had two multiple hit games against Winston-Salem State.  Reese had two hits and three RBI in the first contest and three hits and one RBI in the second.  Reese’s RBI single against Georgia Southern broke a scoreless tie and helped the Catamounts beat the Eagles.
