Round 2

 

Hollywood, S.C. ?Furman leads by six-strokes over UNC Greensboro following the second round of play at the 2008 Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championship presented by Seven Falls Golf and River Club at the Links at Stono Ferry.

 

Jaclyn Hilea from Furman leads at the 2008 Southern Conference Championship with a two round total of even par.  Hilea used five birdies at holes 3, 5, 8, 10 and 15 to fire a one-under 71.

 

Steffi Kirchmayr of College of Charleston fired a two-under par 70 for the low round of the tournament.  Kirchmayr had four birdies with three on the front nine and one on the back nine, vaulting her from 31^st to a tie for seventh.

 

UNC Greensboro and Elon remain in second and third place and will be paired with Furman in the final group. Chattanooga is in fourth place followed by College of Charleston, which made the biggest move of the day by firing eight strokes fewer than Sunday. Wofford, Western Carolina, Appalachian State and The Citadel round out the rest of the leaderboard.
