SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Wofford freshman Alex Rankin has been named Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for April 16.

The Anderson, S.C., native placed fourth this week at the Roar-EE Invitational in New York, N.Y., as Wofford finished fourth as a team in the 14-school event. Rankin has placed fourth in each of the last two tournaments following her individual title championship at the Gainesville Shootout.

This is Rankin’s second golfer of the week award in 2008.

Another top golfer this week was Chattanooga’s Emma de Groot.
