SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Chattanooga’s Brooke Loudermilk was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week.  A standout on Chattanooga’s softball team, Loudermilk has a 3.769-grade point average and is majoring in Art Education.

Loudermilk, a sophomore from Locust Grove, Ga., helped Chattanooga garner two victories over conference opponent UNC Greensboro.  Loudermilk pitched 7.2 innings and had 16 strikeouts in two games.  Loudermilk struck out a record- tying 15 batters, including the first eight of the game and allowed three hits and one run in a 4-1 victory over UNC Greensboro.  

Loudermilk was named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week.  She leads her team with a 2.39 ERA, has 120 strikeouts in 93.2 innings and holds opponents to .212 batting average.
