MONTGOMERY, Ala. ? The Furman men’s tennis team rebounded to sweep Brown 4-0 on day two of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic.
After a four-hour rain delay, play began with singles matches. Junior Andy Juc earned a quick 6-1, 6-1 win over Saurabh Kohli in the number one spot.
Bo Ladyman defeated Chris Lee in the number two spot by scores of 7-5, 6-3, while Chris Motes topped Noah Gardner 6-4, 6-2 in the fourth spot.
Jordan Walters clinched the win for Furman with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win over Kendrick Au in number five singles.
With the win, Furman improves to 4-9 on the season, and will face the winner of Wisconsin and Fresno State tomorrow.

ELON, N.C. ? No. 66 Elon emerged victorious from two doubles bouts and five singles flights to upend Georgia Southern 6-1 in Southern Conference men’s tennis action Friday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
It marked the sixth consecutive victory for the two-time defending league champion Phoenix (10-3 overall, 5-0 SoCon). Elon also stretched its home winning streak to 30 matches and its conference winning streak to 18 regular-season tilts.
Alberto Rojas and Mason Schermerhorn topped Philip Prins and Greg Bekkers 8-1 at No. 2 doubles to give the Phoenix the first win of the day. Joris De Weerdt and Matthew Sands turned back Chase Helpingstine and Cody Stauffer-MacDowell 8-4 at No. 3 to even the doubles matches for the Eagles (5-6 overall, 1-2 SoCon) at 1-1. Damon Gooch ? the reigning SoCon Player of the Week ? and Philip Nemec out-battled Emmanuel Nkoueleue and Borja Malet 8-4 at No. 1 to claim the doubles point for Elon.
Nemec (over Sands 6-0, 6-4 at No. 5), Helpingstine (over Prins 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6), Schermerhorn (over Bekkers 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3), Oscar Podlewski (over De Weerdt 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2) ? the reigning SoCon Athlete of the Month ? and Gooch (over Nkoueleue 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1) captured the first five singles matches for the Phoenix. Georgia Southern pulled out a victory at No. 4 singles when Malet out-dueled Rojas 7-5, 6-7, 10-6.
