College of Charleston 3, East Carolina 4
Mt. Pleasant, S.C. -- Despite wins by Omer Abramovich and Mickael Boyer at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, the College of Charleston men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to East Carolina at the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point on Thursday.
Charleston, which fell to 5-7, plays host to Southern Conference member Georgia Southern in a 1:00 start on Saturday. East Carolina improved to 11-6.
Abramovich beat Jaroslav Horvath 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Boyer outlasted Aleksey Kochetov 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 at No. 2 singles.
Joe Nicolazzi beat Henrik Skalmerud 7-6, 6-1 in No. 5 singles play.
Furman 1, Oklahoma State 4
MONTGOMERY, Ala. ? The Furman men’s tennis team fell 4-1 to #24 Oklahoma State in the opening round of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic Thursday in Montgomery, Ala.
Oklahoma State won the doubles point by winning all three matches. The Cowboys earned two quick victories in the top two singles spots, with 13th ranked Oleksandr Nedovyesov defeating Andy Juc 6-3, 6-4 and 38th ranked Ivan Puchkarov topping Bo Ladyman 6-1, 6-1.
Sophomore Chris Motes earned the Paladins’ only point of the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Mark Kepler in the number four spot. The Cowboys’ Dmytro Petrov clinched the win for Oklahoma State with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Daniel Knause.
With the win, Oklahoma State improves to 6-4 on the season. Furman falls to 3-8 and will face Brown on Friday to continue play in the Blue Gray Classic.

The Citadel 7, UNC Greensboro 0
Charleston, S.C. ? The Citadel Bulldog tennis team swept UNC Greensboro to pick up their third Southern Conference win of the season, Thursday afternoon at the Earle Tennis Center.
The Citadel took the doubles point, with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Daniel Dossetor and Yufo Sutantio defeated Andrey Bubnov and Yaroslav Litus, 8-5, at No. 2, while James Eason and Alberto Diaz came back to force a tiebreak and defeat William John and Arsel Kumdereli, 9-8, at No. 1 doubles.
The Bulldogs proceeded to sweep the singles matches to win the match, 7-0. Dossetor won at No. 1 singles (6-4, 7-6), Sutantio won at No. 2 in three sets (0-6, 6-4, 6-4), Eason won at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0), Diaz took No. 4 in three sets (4-6, 6-2, 6-0), Martin King won at No. 5 (6-1, 6-4), and Frederic Petrilli finished the Spartans off at No. 6 in the third set (0-6, 6-4, 6-3).
The Citadel improves to 8-7 (3-2 SoCon) on the season, while UNC Greensboro slips to 1-10 (0-2 SoCon).
