SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The Southern Conference’s track & field coaches selected Emily Wood of Chattanooga as the Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
Wood, a senior from Kingsport, Tenn., ran a personal best in the 800-meters. Her time of 2:13.66 placed her 12th at the McCravy Memorial Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky. Wood shaved three seconds off her previous personal best of 2:16.85. She has the fastest 800-meter time in Southern Conference.
Other Top Performers:
Brenna Burns from Davidson won the 3,000-meters at the UNC Texas Roadhouse Invitational with a time of 10:01.
Jennine Strange from Elon ran a personal best of 2:19.66 in the 800-meters at the UNC Texas Roadhouse Invitational. She is has the third fastest time in the Southern Conference.
