SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that UNC Greensboro’s Daren Burns has been named the Wrestler of the Week.

Burns, a senior from Catawba, N.C., pinned Kyle McKee of Chattanooga in 1:20 in UNC Greensboro’s 25-17 loss.  Burns is 5-0 in the Southern Conference and 30-6 overall.  He is on a five-match win streak and broke the UNC Greensboro career wins record with his 99^th victory.  

Burns is ranked 13^th by InterMat/NWCA/NWMA.  Burns became the first wrestler in UNC Greensboro history to reach the century mark in career wins, when he defeated NC State’s Mark Jahad, 1-0.
