WCU's Mitchell Tabbed Runner of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The Southern Conference’s track & field coaches selected Manteo Mitchell of Western Carolina as the Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

 

Mitchell, a junior from Mooresboro, N.C., won the 400-meters at the Clemson Tiger Invitational with a Southern Conference leading time of 47.96.  Mitchell placed second in the 60-meters with a time of 6.88. Mitchell was apart of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed second with a time of 3:15.93.  Mitchell ranks third in the Southern Conference in the 60-meter and 200-meter dash.  He is also apart of the Southern Conference leading 4x400-meter relay team.

 

 

Other Top Performers:

Thad Sieracki, a junior from Davidson placed sixth in the 3,000 meters at the Clemson Tiger Invitational with a personal best of 8:40.70.

 

Josh Wyatt, a senior from UNC Greensboro placed second at the Carolina Chik-Fil-A Invitational with a time of 15:07.55 in the 5,000-meters.  Wyatt ran a personal best as well as breaking a six year old UNC Greensboro school record.  Wyatt leads the Southern Conference in the 5,000-meters.
