SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The Southern Conference’s track & field coaches selected Michael Wilson of Appalachian State as the Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Wilson, a freshman from Asheville, N.C., won the pole vault competition at the ASU Limited Open with a vault of 15’7.  Wilson is tied for best vault in the Southern Conference with Michael O’ Steen of Western Carolina.

Other Top Performers:

David Moore, a red-shirt freshman from Sarnia Ontario, Canada won the 3,000-meters at the Valentine’s Invitational hosted by Middle Tennessee State.  This was his first win as a collegiate runner.  He also set a personal best with his time of 8:38.35.
