SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Appalachian State wrestler Austin Trotman has been named this week’s Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all matches wrestled from Nov. 26 through Dec. 2, the league office announced Wednesday.

Trotman, who wrestles at 174 pounds, went 4-0 last week at the Journeyman/BRUTE Northeast Duals, including a victory over No. 13 Alex Caruso of Lehigh. He also earned his first fall of the year when he pinned Ben Stouffer from Drexel in the first period.

Also nominated for this week’s award was UNC Greensboro’s Chris Bencivenga.
