SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? College of Charleston’s Andrew Goudelock has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games November 25-December 1 the league office announced Tuesday (Dec. 2).  Goudelock helped lift the Cougars to an 82-80 overtime victory over South Carolina last week.  He scored 20 points, including a jump shot with 2.6 seconds left in regulation that sent the game to overtime. 

Goudelock recorded a game-high six assists in the victory over the Gamecocks.  He went 8-for-18 from the field and connected on 3-of-4 free throw attempts.  The Lilburn, Ga., native added a steal and blocked shot in the win.  It was the third time this season Goudelock has recorded at least 20 points.  He leads the Cougars and is second in the conference in scoring (17.8 ppg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6).  Goudelock leads the Southern Conference in minutes played per game (35.5).

College of Charleston (5-1) returns to action Thursday (Dec. 4) when the Cougars travel to face Elon in the league opener for both teams.  CofC will then face UNC Greensboro Saturday (Dec. 6).

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State’s Isaac Butts, Chattanooga’s Stephen McDowell, The Citadel’s Cameron Wells, Elon’s Ola Atoyebi, Davidson’s Andrew Lovedale, Western Carolina’s Harouna Mutombo and Wofford’s Junior Salters.
