SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Western Carolina women’s basketball player Brooke Johnson has been named this week’s Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Johnson, a 6-4 forward, has a 3.91 GPA in Criminal Justice. Tuesday, Johnson recorded 12 points, including a 5-for-5 performance from the foul line, and four blocks in the Lady Catamounts loss to No. 9 Tennessee. She also led the team in rebounding in games against Liberty and Lafayette last week. For the week, the senior averaged nine points, 7.3 rebounds and two blocked shots per contest.
Also nominated for this week’s award was Davidson wrestler Ben Altman.
