Clinton, S.C. -- Jonathan Collier and Brooks Duff each tallied a goal to give Furman a 2-0 victory over Presbyterian in the Paladins regular season men’s soccer finale Sunday afternoon in Clinton, S.C.

The victory snapped the Paladins’ two-match skid and improved Furman’s final regular season record to 11-7-1.

Collier, a junior, opened the scoring in the 31st minute converting on an assist from Caleb Suri for his second goal of the season.  Duff capped the scoring with an insurance goal off of Patrick Murray’s team-leading sixth assist of the campaign in the 85th minute.

Josh Zimmer and Maros Valko combined on the shutout for the Paladins with Zimmer stopping Presbyterian’s only shot on goal.  Furman held a 9-5 edge in shots and 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Furman begins play in the Southern Conference Tournament hosting a quarterfinal round match at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Stone Stadium.  Furman’s seed and first round opponent will be determined following Tuesday’s final regular season SoCon matches.
