Chapple, Dubose, Dallas and Roberts Receive Weekly Honors
SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference named its football players of the week today for the games played on Saturday, Nov. 15. Georgia Southern quarterback Lee Chapple was voted as the Offensive Player of the Week while teammate Dion Dubose was named Defensive Player of the Week. The Citadel running back Terrell Dallas was selected Freshman of the Week and fellow Bulldog, punt returner Andre Roberts, was tabbed Special Teams Player of the Week. The players of the week were selected by the league’s sports information directors.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lee Chapple, Georgia Southern, R-Fr., QB
Chapple passed for 323 yards and two touchdowns in the 17-10 season-ending victory at No. 14 Furman, and the redshirt freshman also set GSU single-game offensive records for attempts (56) and completions (39). His 39 completions were fourth-most in Southern Conference history. It was Chapple’s first action after missing the last two weeks with an injury.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dion Dubose, Georgia Southern, Fr., LB
The freshman linebacker led Georgia Southern with 10 tackles and two sacks against No. 14 Furman while making just his third start of the season. Nine of Dubose’s 10 tackles were solo stops as the Eagles held Furman to 18 points below its season average.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Terrell Dallas, The Citadel, Fr., RB
Dallas led the Bulldogs rushing game with season-highs of 13 carries and 49 yards and the team’s only two offensive touchdowns in a 24-21 SoCon win over Chattanooga.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Andre Roberts, The Citadel, Jr., PR
Roberts scored the game-winning touchdown on a 43-yard punt return with less than 1:46 remaining in the fourth quarter in Saturday’s 24-21 homecoming victory over Chattanooga. The touchdown return marked his third of the season, tying the SoCon single-season record of former Bulldog Carlos Frank, set in 1997. Roberts finished with 87 yards in punt returns for an all-purpose total of 246 yards.
