SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? UNC Greensboro middle blocker Kayren Finney has been named the Southern Conference Volleyball Player of the Week as voted on by the conference volleyball sports information directors, the league office announced Tuesday.

Finney helped lead the Spartans to a 3-0 record last week, as they defeated Elon (3-1), Furman (3-2) and Wofford (3-0). She hit .423 for the week and had 15 blocks and 37 kills, while committing only seven errors. The award is Finney’s second of the season, as she also won it in week eight.

Also nominated for this week’s award were College of Charleston’s Cole Dawley, Samford’s Ashley Adams, Furman’s Nicole Palazzo, Western Carolina’s Carrie Minogue, Appalachian State’s Carla Durham, Chattanooga’s Michaela Huff and Elon’s Caroline Lemke.
