LADY MOCS DOUSE FLAMES 72-49 IN EXHIBITION
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Junior Shanara Hollinquest tallied a double-double to lead the Lady Mocs to a 72-49 exhibition win over Lee University Monday night at the McKenzie Arena.
Hollinquest made 9-of-12 from the floor including her first-ever 3-pointer to lead all scorers with 24 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds as Chattanooga played its final tune-up before the season opener.
Chattanooga jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead on a trio of layups from Hollinquest and junior Jenaya Wade-Fray and a 3-pointer from senior LaCondra Mason. The Lady Flames cut the lead to five but couldn’t get any closer than four the remainder of the half.
Sophomore Bailey Dewart scored 11 of her career-high 13 points in the first half draining a trio of 3-pointers in quick succession to advance UTC’s advantage to 28-17 with 4:16 remaining in the half.
The Lady Mocs outscored Lee in the paint 20-10 in the first stanza and had 13 points off turnovers and scored 13 second chance points. Chattanooga carried a 37-21 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Mocs lead dipped into double digits just once hitting nine points with 17:53 to play in the game. From there the lead expanded getting as high as 24 points as the game drew to a close.
The Lady Mocs shot just 26-of-66 from the floor but held the Flames to a 30.2 percent performance making 19-of-63. UTC outshot Lee 7-2 from the 3-point line and had 59 rebounds to the Lady Flames’ 36 with 22 on the offensive boards.
UTC’s bench contributed 29 points to Lee’s seven and had 18 second chance points.
The Lady Mocs will host former Southern Conference foe East Tennessee State Monday, Nov. 17 in the season opener. The game will tip at 7 p.m.
CSS TO TELEVISE LADY MOCS VS. LADY VOLS; GAME TIME CHANGED TO 6:30 TO ACCOMMODATE BROADCAST
CSS has opted to air the Lady Mocs home game against UTK on Nov. 21 at the McKenzie Arena. As a result, the game will be moved up a half-hour and begin at 6:30 p.m. Gates open one hour prior to tip off and tickets are on sale at the box office.

A limited number of courtside tickets were available for $20 with a limit of eight per person. Upper level reserved side court seats are $15 and upper level general admission baseline seats are $10.
This will be UTK's first trip to Chattanooga since 2004. The two-time defending national champions were hit hard by graduation and are ranked seventh in the AP Top 25 poll and sixth in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll. Connecticut is ranked first in both.
