SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Davidson women’s cross country runner Caroline Sanker has been named the Southern Conference women’s runner of the week as voted on by the conference head cross country coaches, the league office announced Wednesday.
Sanker finished the Greater Louisville Classic in a time of 17:50, which was good for a 15th-place finish individually. The Wildcat team finished in 11th place while racing against a field of 31 teams that included 10 teams that are ranked either nationally or regionally.
Also nominated for this week’s award were Samford’s Hillary Neal, Elon’s Emily Fournier and Appalachian State’s Meg Gaffney.
