SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Appalachian State’s Juan Obregon has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 21-27. Obregon scored three goals last week as Appalachian State claimed wins over Virginia Tech (2-1) and Davidson (2-1).
The senior from Castle Rock, Colo., scored both of the Mountaineers’ goals against Virginia Tech, including the game-winning tally with less than two minutes to go. Obregon scored ASU’s first goal in the Mountaineers’ win over Davidson Sunday afternoon. Obregon is tied for third place in the SoCon with five goals this season. He also ranks eighth in shots per game (1.88) and ninth in goals per game (0.31).
Other top performers this week were College of Charleston’s Steven Nagy, Davidson’s Charlie Reiter, Elon’s Erfan Imeni and Georgia Southern’s Daniel Smith.
