College of Charleston's Justin Fojo Earns Freshmen All-America Honors

Charleston, S.C. -- College of Charleston defender Justin Fojo has been named to the 2007 College Soccer News Freshman All-America third team, it was announced on Friday.

Fojo (5-9, 160)  played and started 14 games for the Cougars this fall and added 11 shots on goal and one assist.  Fojo, who prepped at Lake Mary (Fla.) High School, helped the Cougars to a 13-4-1 record this past season.

Fojo in one of only two Southern Conference players to earn the honor (Furman's Haris Cekic).  He was an integral part of the Cougars' midfield, helping to create plays on both sides of the field.

Earlier in the week, Fojo, along with teammates Kareem Yearwood, Cobin Waller and Wes Knight were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-South Region teams.

Cekic Named College Soccer News, Soccer America Freshmen All-America

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman midfielder Haris Cekic has been named first team College Soccer News All-Freshmen and second team Soccer America All-Freshmen, it was announced this week.

The London, Ontario, native tallied 10 goals, including four game-winner, while leading Furman to a 19-4-0 record this season.  The SoCon Freshman-of-the-Year and second team All-SoCon pick garnered league player-of-the-month honors for November after guiding Furman to both the SoCon regular season and tournament titles.

Cekic scored in overtime to give Furman a 1-0 victory over UNC Greensboro in the SoCon Finals and propel the Paladins into the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002.  He scored a goal as the 20th-ranked Paladins downed Campbell in the opening round of the tournament before falling to eventual national champion Wake Forest in round two.
