SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The Southern Conference’s track & field coaches selected Alex Hoyt of Davidson as the Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
Hoyt, a junior from Salem, Va., placed sixth in the 1000-meters at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason. Hoyt’s time of 2:34.06 was the sixth fastest in Davidson history. He also anchored the winning distance medley relay team, running the 1600-meter leg in 4:26 to overcome a 60-meter deficit.
Other Top Performers:
Andy Clyne, a freshmen from UNC Greensboro placed second in the 1000-meters at the Liberty On Track Open with a time of 2:34.12. His time was the fastest ever by a UNC Greensboro freshman running in his first indoor track meet.
