SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The Southern Conference’s track & field coaches selected Brenna Burns of Davidson as the Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Burns, a senior from Weaverille, N.C., placed first in the 3,000-meters at the Patriot Games at George Mason on Saturday.  She defeated a strong field which included Navy, Richmond and American.  Her time of 9:55.72 is tops in the Southern Conference in the 3,000-meters this season.
