SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Davidson’s Brenna Burns was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week.  A standout on Davidson’s track & field team, Burns has a 3.98 grade point average and is majoring in psychology.

Burns, a senior from Weaverille, N.C., placed first in the 3,000-meters at the Patriot Games at George Mason on Saturday.  She defeated a strong field which included Navy, Richmond and American.  Her time of 9:55.72 is tops is the Southern Conference in the 3,000-meters this season.
