HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Brittany Hallberg scored the first goal of her collegiate career to lift the Elon Phoenix to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Campbell Fighting Camels in non-conference women's soccer action from High Point, N.C. on Saturday afternoon in the HPU Invitational.  Elon, playing its third consecutive overtime game, improved to 2-1-1 while Campbell dropped to 0-2-0.

The Phoenix jumped on top only 4:53 into the game when Alix Heinicke fed a ball to Katina Boozer who blasted a shot past the keeper from about 18 yards out for her second score of the year.

Amanda Murphy's tally at 24:08 evened the score.  Murphy headed Caity Brown's pass into the goal to knot the game at 1-1.

No one was able to score again in regulation, forcing the overtime period.  With just 6.4 seconds left Hallberg ran down a pass from Megan Deutschle and beat the keeper one-on-one for the game-winning score.

Elon outshot Campbell 15-6 overall and 6-2 on goal.  The Camels were held without a shot in overtime.

Lizz Johnson needed to make just one save for Elon while Boomie Luck snagged four saves for Campbell.  Both keepers played the entire 99:54.

Elon will travel to Duke for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Thursday for its next game.
