SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The cross country coaches selected Becky Stewart of College of Charleston as the Women’s Runner of the Week for September 3.

Becky, a freshman from Manassas, VA ran in her first cross country race as a collegiate athlete finished sixth overall in the Gamecock Invitational. She finished the race with a time of 18:31 and led the Cougars to a second place finish ahead of Clemson and South Carolina.

Other Top Performers:

Michelle Chewens, a freshman from UNC Greensboro finished fourth overall in her first collegiate race.  Michelle’s time at the Campbell Invitational was 15:47 for a 4K.

Kerrie Savery, a senior biology major form Western Carolina won the Western Carolina Open with a time of 12:14.  She led her team of Catamounts to victory even though the conditions were muddy and raining.  Kerrie is a TIAA Cref Honoree, she is a Southern Conference academic honor roll and USTFCCC academic all-American.
