Western Carolina's Williams Earns Player of the Week Award

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Western Carolina goalkeeper Caitlin Williams has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week after being named the Defensive MVP at the ETSU Invitational.

 

A goalkeeper from Pendleton, S.C., Williams posted one shutout in WCU’s (4-3-0) 2-0 victory against Stetson. The freshman’s only goal allowed during the week came on a penalty kick against tournament host East Tennessee State. On the season, she has two shutouts and a 0.79 goals-against average.

 

Other top performers from the week were Appalachian State forward Caroline Lowe, College of Charleston forward Brittany Schneider, Chattanooga goalkeeper Milla Juni, Davidson midfielder Lauren Conner, Furman forward Emily Krankowski, Georgia Southern forward Ashley Toussaint and UNC Greensboro goalkeeper Katherine Ryan.
