SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Wofford sophomore Monica Ploetzke has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week following a two-goal, one-assist showing last week.

The Clarks Hill, S.C. native scored the first goal and the game-winner in the Terriers’ 3-2 overtime victory over Coastal Carolina last Monday. In addition, Ploetzke recorded an assist on Wofford’s game-tying score in the 82nd minute. She currently ranks second in the Southern Conference in points and goals scored.

Wofford returns to action Friday with a 2:00 p.m. match at Western Kentucky.

Other top performers from the week were Appalachian State’s Jaclyn Hoffman, College of Charleston’s Sarah Wiggers, The Citadel’s Jessa Scott, Elon’s Katina Boozer, Furman’s Anna Betton, UNC Greensboro’s Heather Deutschle and Western Carolina’s Caitlin Williams.
