SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The cross country coaches selected Shelly Taylor of Chattanooga as the Women’s Runner of the Week for September 11.

Shelly, a sophomore from Dalton, GA finished sixth at the UTC Opener leading her teammates to a tie for second place in the team competition with Auburn.  Shelly ran the two mile course in 11:28 and the winner from Auburn, Hollie Knight finished the course at 11:04.  The UTC Opener had nine teams with Georgia Tech winning and Chattanooga and Auburn tied for second.

Chattanooga’s cross country team travels to Western Kentucky on Saturday to run in the Western Kentucky Invitational.
