SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced that Furman’s Nicole Palazzo has earned volleyball player of the week honors.

Palazzo, a junior from Grayson, Georgia helped the Lady Paladins to a 2-1 record in the Big Orange Bash.  The Paladins beat rival Clemson (3-2), Florida A&M (3-2) and lost to the Lady Boilermakers (0-3) 

The 6’3 middle blocker had 39 kills, 15 blocks, 4 digs and a hitting percentage of .341.  Nicole recorded 24 of those 39 kills against Florida A&M with a hitting percentage of .400 and 8 blocks.  She was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Other top performers include Leslee Ball of Chattanooga, Kaitlyn Nortz of  UNC Greensboro, Katie Pierucci of Davidson, Whitney Russell of College of Charleston and Joanna Suddath of Wofford.
