Former Wofford Standout Brandon Waring tabbed Pioneer League Offensive Player of the Week

Former Wofford third baseman Brandon Waring, playing in his first season at the professional level, has been named the Pioneer League's Offensive Player of the Week while suiting up for the Billings (Mont.) Mustangs, Class-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

Waring, a multi-honored All-American this past season for the Terriers, finished the week with a stellar .450 batting average, which included a double and two home runs among his nine hits in 20 at-bats. He posted an .800 slugging percentage and collected nine runs batted in during the week, including four multi-hit games.

During one game in the stretch, he knocked in five runs to tie for the league lead in RBIs on the week.

He is tied for the league lead in home runs with seven and is among the top three with 31 RBIs.
