RADFORD, Va. -- Wofford volleyball was handed its first defeat of the season against Radford in Radford, Va. by a 3-0 score. The Highlanders won by a score of 30-23, 30-27, 32-30 as the Terriers attempted a last game comeback.

Down 24-19 in game three, Wofford rallied for seven points before tying the score at 26. Radford would again regain the lead, leading by as much as two points before the Terriers would tie the score again at 30.

Freshman Jessica Sullivan led Radford’s (2-2) offense attack with a .438 hitting percentage. Three Highlanders concluded the night with 27 total attacks, two of whom were the match kills leader. Junior Lindsey Poole ended the night with 11 kills, while sophomore Alexis Miller finished with 10. Senior Josie Hanners collected a match high 45 assists and senior Ginny Dolan led the squad with 21 digs.

Wofford (3-1) freshman Stacy Byrd completed the night with a career-high .615 hitting percentage with eight kills, no errors and 13 total attacks. Sophomore Lindsey Richardson was the match leader with 29 total attacks. The Wofford assist leader was sophomore Joanna Suddath with 29. Junior Carolyn Rivers finished with a match high 22 digs.
