Western Carolina’s Tyler Sexton was named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 7.

The left-hander pitched his second straight complete game, tossing a five-hit shutout as Western Carolina beat Appalachian State 6-0 on May 4. He walked one and struck one five. It marked the first complete game shutout for the Catamounts since 2003. The High Point, N.C. native allowed just four batters to reach base. The junor upped his record to 7-2 on the season with the win.
