DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson men's tennis team could not halt the No. 42 Elon Phoenix perfect run through the Southern Conference as the Wildcats were swept in all nine matches, dropping a 7-0 decision on Wednesday, April 4 at Covington Tennis Courts. Davidson saw its record fall to 6-14 overall and 1-6 in SoCon action. The Phoenix ran its win streak to nine straight as it improved to 18-2 overall and finished league play at 9-0.
For only the third time all year, the Wildcats dropped all three doubles matches to start the afternoon off. The team of sophomore Ethan Jaffee and freshman Sam Burns registered three-game wins, but fell in the end by the count of 8-3 for the closest doubles match of the day. Davidson had a 38-19 team doubles mark and were 10-8 in SoCon matches coming into the day.
No. 42 Elon then finished off the sweep with straight-set wins at all six singles spots to give Davidson its first shutout loss of the season.
Sophomore Scott Myers scored the most game wins, but still fell 6-4, 6-1, while senior John Bolton played SoCon Player of the Week, Anuwat Dalodom, tough before dropping a 6-1, 6-3 decision.
The Wildcats wrap up their home portion of the schedule with a SoCon match against The Citadel on Friday at 2 p.m. It will also be Senior Day as Davidson will honor Bolton and Amir Vaez before the match.

Mt. Pleasant, S.C. ? The No. 58 College of Charleston men’s tennis team gained their sixth consecutive victory with a 5-2 win over Wofford at the Patriots Point Tennis Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Wednesday.
The victory improves CofC’s record to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in the SoCon, while Wofford drops to 10-6 and 4-3 in the Southern Conference.
The Cougars will return to action on Apr. 10 against The Citadel at the Earle Tennis Center in Charleston, S.C. beginning at 2 p.m. Wofford will face Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. on Apr. 5 at 2:30 p.m.

Appalachian State 5, High Point 2
April 4, 2007 - HIGH POINT, N.C.--Appalachian State University's men's tennis team picked up its 12th win of the season Wednesday with a 5-2 victory at High Point.
Senior Dimitar Dimitrov (Sofia, Bulgaria) won his ninth-straight singles match, a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Ben Deloume, to help pace the Mountaineers. Freshman Peter Jacobs (Pretoria, South Africa) clinched the win at No. 3 for Appalachian with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over David Perren. Wednesday's match gave Jacobs his 13th win of 2007.
At No. 1, Trent Constance (Victoria, Australia) got back on track with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Appalachian has won five of its last six meets.
The Mountaineers are tentatively slated to face Furman in Boone on Thursday depending on weather. ASU and Furman are scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
