MT. PLEASANT, S.C. ? The first round of the Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championship has been cancelled due to storm like conditions at Patriots Point Golf Links on Sunday morning.

The first round was set for a 7:30 a.m. tee-off time but due to heavy winds and inclement weather, the round was moved to a 2:00 p.m. start. Championship officials canceled the round around 1:00 as winds in excess of 50 miles per hour and other elements proved too hazardous for play.

The championship will now be played as a two-round tournament with the first round played Monday, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
